Ti serial de serializer chipset provides a low EMI experience comparable to that of tablet computers for all models from entry-level cars to luxury SUVs.
Recently, Texas Instruments (TI) announced the launch of the industry’s most functional chipset, further expanding its FPD link III automotive serial device string remover product camp. The ds90uh927q-q1 serial device and ds90uh928q-q1 deserializer can bring uncompressed and high-definition digital audio and video for the LCD touch screen panel of the car central information display and the rear seat. Ds90uh928q-q1 is the only one in the industry to realize auto cable balance, 24 bit color jitter and white balance through LVDS connection. These features enable the LCD panel to achieve the highest performance, lowest cost, and lowest EMI advantages over competitive solutions.
The chipset supports high bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) and direct connection with LVDS input source and display screen, including openldi (LVDS digital interface) standard. This can not only reduce the signal line by 68%, but also support differential signal and minimize EMI. Compared with similar competitive solutions, Ti FPD link series can provide system architects with more video sources and displays that can be directly connected to the vehicle video network.

Main features and advantages of ds90uh927q-q1 and ds90uh928q-q1:
Rich color 720p experience comparable to tablet: 5 MHz to 85 MHz pixel clock and 24-bit pixel depth combine on-chip white balance, high frame rate control jitter and 7.1 audio support to achieve high-quality audio and video. This provides a consistent visual experience for all models, from entry-level cars to high-end SUVs. In addition, the jitter and white balance feature in HD resolution also supports the use of LCD panel with lower image quality, which can save cost;
Adaptive cable equalizer to compensate cable loss: ds90ub928q-q1 can automatically adapt cable length and cable condition or aging. This unique feature can not only deal with the common cable abrasion of pull-down or pop-up display, but also help manufacturers reduce the inventory of LCD panel version;
A simple way to obtain content protection Video: use HDCP interface protocol to transmit digital audio, video and bidirectional I2C control signals through single twisted pair at the same time. The implementation of HDCP and encryption / decryption key can simplify the system design. This can eliminate the cost of microcontroller and FPGA for Ethernet interface packet compression video system.
Ds90uh927q-q1 and ds90uh928q-q1 can be mixed and matched with other products of Ti FPD link III series to fully meet the needs of different models. For example, ds90uh928q-q1 can be combined with ds90uh925q-q1 serial device, dra74x "Jacinto 6" automobile processor and drv2667 piezoelectric tactile driver to meet the needs of high-definition touch screen, while ds90uh927q-q1 serial device and ds90uh928q-q1 serial device can be combined with drv2667 and other leading graphics processors to form a complete information entertainment subsystem. In addition, non HDCP versions of these serializer deserializers are also available as ds90ub927q-q1 and ds90ub928q-q1.
Tools and support
At present, evaluation board (EVM) is provided to evaluate these two devices quickly: ds90uh927qevm and ds90uh928qevm. In addition, we also provide Ibis models for ds90uh927q-q1 and ds90uh928q-q1.
Supply and packaging
Ds90uh927q-q1 serializer and ds90uh928q-q1 deserializer are now available. Ds90uh927q-q1 is in 40 pin, 6mm x 6mm QFN package, while ds90uh928q-q1 is in 48 pin, 7mm x 7mm QFN package.
