According to the market, MediaTek is jointly promoting the wireless charging pilot plan with Honghai group’s fit, which mainly produces connectors and cables. If the pilot plan is successfully promoted in the future, it will be the largest scale wireless charging pilot plan at present. The two companies will work together to expand the competition for wireless charging business opportunities.
The supply chain pointed out that after the acquisition of lifeI, the power management chip factory by MediaTek, the wireless charging business has been moved to lifeI, which is responsible for the wireless charging product line of the development group.
Through the cooperation between kupiin, a module factory located in mainland China, and Hongteng, both sides directly carry out the wireless charging pilot plan in Hongteng Kunshan factory. Based on the 10000 people army of Hongteng in Kunshan, the wireless charging station is set up in the factory to warm up the new products.
It is understood that the wireless charging product created by Boke for Hongteng is called "unity go", using the solution of lifeI, which has been installed in the staff restaurant, coffee shop and other places of Hongteng Kunshan factory, so that the staff of the factory can first try the advantages of wireless charging.
The supply chain pointed out that as many as tens of thousands of employees in Hongteng Kunshan plant and as many as one million employees in the whole Foxconn mainland became the best basis for the pilot.
As the market generally expects apple to introduce wireless charging into the iPhone 8 launched in the next year, the industry believes that Hon Hai, which is responsible for manufacturing the iPhone, should also have a high interest in the wireless charging market. As for MediaTek, it has previously been one of the large-scale cooperative chip factories for apple to research solutions related to higher charging efficiency, adding imagination space for the cooperation between MediaTek and Hon Hai.
After Samsung, apple, Nokia, IKEA, Starbucks and other heavyweight manufacturers support wireless charging one after another, the business opportunities are highly expected by the market. However, due to the lack of wide support from mobile phone brand manufacturers, currently only Samsung is the most active, coupled with the lack of wireless charging environment, the business opportunities are slightly delayed.
In order to promote the benefits of wireless charging, this year, HTC, Qualcomm and other companies announced pilot plans, and more participants joined hands with HTC. The supply chain believes that if the iPhone 8 can smoothly carry wireless charging, it will directly endorse the wireless charging market, which is conducive to the rapid take-off of the market next year.
