The foundation ceremony of the largest large-scale semiconductor wafer project (phase II) in China was held in Yinchuan economic and Technological Development Zone. The implementation of this project marks the essential breakthrough of domestic substitute materials for China’s IC silicon products.
According to reports, this project is planned to complete the construction of factory buildings, comprehensive office buildings and other facilities in September this year, complete the equipment installation and commissioning within this year, and enter the trial production stage. After the completion of the project, the annual output of 4.2 million 8-inch and 2.4 million 12 inch semiconductor monocrystalline silicon wafers will be achieved. The products can be applied to the fields of electronics, semiconductor, integrated circuit, communication, automobile, medical treatment, national defense, etc. The implementation of Yinhe semiconductor integrated circuit wafer project (phase II) will bring the total production capacity of semiconductor level silicon wafers in Yinchuan Economic Development Zone to 10 million. After the completion of the project, the annual sales revenue will increase by 1 billion yuan and the profits and taxes will be paid by 100 million yuan.
