Latest release of wireless intelligent agents, understanding "communication+AI"

As is well known, the 3GPP R18 version is about to be officially frozen in the first half of the year. The freeze of R18 means that 5G-A will fully enter the commercial phase. In recent months, everyone should be able to clearly feel that there have been more and more topics about 5G-A, and news coverage has become increasingly dense.
Not long ago, China Mobile was the first to announce the first batch of 100 5G-A commercial cities, and plans to expand the number of 5G-A commercial cities to over 300 by the end of 2024. China Telecom and China Unicom are also accelerating their layout and actively promoting the commercial deployment of 5G-A.
According to the latest data, more than 10 operators worldwide have launched commercial plans for 5G-A, and more than 30 operators have carried out relevant technology validation. The era of 5G-A is accelerating towards us.
So, what are we focusing on when we focus on 5G-A?
Some people say that focusing on the performance improvement of 5G-A. Its 10 Gigabit downlink and gigabit uplink will further enhance the user's network experience.
Some people also say that focusing on 5G-A should focus on the new technologies and scenarios it brings. Integrated sensory and passive IoT Each item represents a huge market opportunity.
As an experienced communication driver, Xiaozaojun is certainly closely concerned about the performance, technology, and scenarios of 5G-A. But in addition, there is another point that I believe is equally worth paying attention to, and even more so. This point is AI artificial intelligence.
Communication+AI=Wireless intelligent agent
Since the AIGC big model represented by ChatGPT became popular, our entire communication industry has always had a question: what is the relationship between the AIGC big model and the communication industry, and can it be implemented?
The communication industry has been saying that AI is no longer just a day or two, but it has always been like thunder without rain, and there have been no real cases of its implementation.
In February of this year, Huawei released the world's first communication big model at the MWC in Barcelona, which attracted widespread attention from both inside and outside the industry. At that time, Huawei did not disclose much information about this big model, which also made people curious about it.
Finally, at the 2024 Huawei Analyst Conference just held last week, they officially launched a new concept - "wireless intelligent agents", which has lifted some of the mysterious veil. Through this "wireless intelligent agent", we can glimpse the vast layout of Huawei's "communication+AI".
What exactly is there to wireless intelligent agents? What's the usage?
At the conference, Zhao Dong, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Wireless Network, explained as follows:
"Wireless intelligent agents introduce communication big models, wireless digital twin systems, and intelligent computing power, injecting intelligence into 5G-A. Wireless intelligent agents will reshape operation and maintenance processes, network experience, and business development models, helping global operators achieve a leap in network productivity in the 5G-A era."
